چکیده

Abstract A continuum theory of pantographic lattices, based on second-grade elasticity, is presented. The proposed model able to describe the mechanical behavior a type material structure made up multiple layers sheets connected with third family fibers. Thus, these materials are characterized by an orthogonal pattern fibers that can bend, stretch and twist. Numerical experiments illustrate predictive potential when subjected different types loads, including compression, torsion two kinds bending. Analyzing responses for various tests makes it possible reveal unusual deformation patterns characteristic such “pantographic blocks.” simulations using finite element method intended assist in designing experimental program 3D-printed specimens materials.

Three-dimensional instabilities of pantographic sheets with parabolic lattices: numerical investigations

In this paper, we determine numerically a large class of equilibrium configurations of an elastic two-dimensional continuous pantographic sheet in three-dimensional deformation consisting of two families of fibers which are parabolic prior to deformation. The fibers are assumed: i) to be continuously distributed over the sample, ii) to be endowed of bending and torsional sti↵nesses and iii) tie...

ON MAXWELL'S STRESS FUNCTIONS FOR SOLVING THREE DIMENSIONAL ELASTICITY PROBLEMS IN THE THEORY OF ELASTICITY

The governing equations of three dimensional elasticity problems include the six Beltrami-Michell stress compatibility equations, the three differential equations of equilibrium, and the six material constitutive relations; and these are usually solved subject to the boundary conditions. The system of fifteen differential equations is usually difficult to solve, and simplified methods are usual...

Three-dimensional Texturing Using Lattices

This paper describes a way to perform realistic three-dimensional texturing of ray-traced objects with irregular surfaces. Such texturing has been done in the past with texture mapping, particle systems, or volumetric methods. We propose an alternative to these called a lattice. Lattices work as fast but inexact ray tracers. As long as lattices are used for small objects, though, the inexactnes...
